Fredrik Leonard is a multi-instrumentalist based in Berlin, currently pursuing his studies in songwriting. His upcoming EP "Oddly Weird", set to release in the first half of 2025, features three songs and two instrumentals, showcasing his distinctive songwriting, composition, and performance skills.
Fredrik's passion for music began at the age of five when he started playing the clarinet. Since then, he has built an extensive background in classical music, performing and touring with various ensembles and orchestras. This classical foundation allows him to seamlessly blend his diverse musical influences, particularly in Folk and Jazz.
In 2022, Fredrik moved to Berlin to strengthen his songwriting skills and refine his sound. Since then, he has gained valuable live-stage experience as a sideman in numerous bands. In 2024, he was selected to participate in the Kontaktstudiengang Popkurs in Hamburg, where he further enhanced his artistic skills while connecting with many musicians who are now integral to his journey.
Fredrik's debut single, "Can I Say It Yet?" co-written with Izzy Díaz and released in 2023, resonated with audiences worldwide after being featured on a Spotify playlist and getting attention from DJ and tastemaker Chris Douridas, who included it in KCRW's show Eclectic 24. Fredrik's musical influences span iconic artists like Joni Mitchell and Nick Drake, as well as contemporary innovators such as Blake Mills and Madison Cunningham.
