Fredrik Leonard is the artist name of Berlin-based singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, composer and producer Friedrich Peters. His music blends English-language folk and singer-songwriter traditions with touches of jazz, inspired by artists such as Joni Mitchell, Nick Drake, Madison Cunningham and Blake Mills.

Fredrik’s passion for music began at the age of five when he started playing the clarinet. Since then, he has built a strong background in classical and jazz music, studying several instruments and performing and touring with various ensembles and orchestras.

In 2022, Fredrik moved to Berlin to strengthen his songwriting and develop his artistic profile. In 2024, he also took part in the renowned Popkurs in Hamburg, where he further refined his craft and built lasting connections within the music community.

Fredrik released his debut single, “Can I Say It Yet?” (feat. Izzy Díaz), in 2023. The song resonated with audiences internationally after being picked up by influential KCRW DJ Chris Douridas, where it has since been in rotation, helping him grow a listenership beyond Germany.

In May 2025, Fredrik released his debut EP “Oddly Weird”, celebrated with a release concertat the House of Music in Berlin. Alongside his solo work, he is active as a sideman, session musician, composer and creative producer in various projects (Jo The Man The Music, Akari).

Most recently, Fredrik introduced a new chapter with his single “Nothing Worth Waiting for More.” Written in the midst of a breakup, the track embraces a more immediate and vulnerable approach to songwriting, focusing on raw emotion rather than perfection, and hinting at the evolving sound of his upcoming releases.
